Sammy is a painter based in Devon, UK, whose work explores colour, texture and expressive form.
With a background spanning more than 16 years as a Design Director and Textile Designer, Sammy has worked with leading names including Adidas, Quiksilver, the NBA, Olympics, Team GB and Xcel Wetsuits. Her experience in textile and surface design continues to shape her approach to painting, with a particular focus on texture, colour and the expressive quality of application.
Having lived and worked in Oregon, Biarritz and Byron Bay, Sammy returned to Devon to raise her young daughter and pursue painting full time. Her work is characterised by a distinctive, playful visual language, bold use of colour and an instinctive approach to composition.
