2015’s event hosts the biggest and most impressive collection of cars and motor cycles ever assembled in Hong Kong. This years show has included rare and well known cars including a 1967 Lamborghini 400GT formerly owned by ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney; a 1949 Ferrari 195 of which only 24 were ever made; a 1953 Aston Martin DB2; and a 1991 AC Cobra specially ordered and formerly owned by Rod Stewart.
Amongst them Alastair Gibson’s J-Manta has been turning heads – installed as the centrepiece of the VIP Drivers lounge. The sculpture has provided something a little different for classic car enthusiasts and collectors attending the show. The 1 metre wing span ‘J-Manta’ brings together true passion for aerodynamic design, combining a 20 years of engineering experience with genuine formula 1 car parts from Jenson Buttons 2006 Honda F1 team grand prix car and the Sahara Force India F1 team car.
The J-Manta is now being exhibited in the boardroom of Benoy, HK with wonderful views over the Victoria Harbour. To view the piece or to enquire about commissions please contact The Drang Gallery here
