INTRODUCING | MIGNON JEON
The Drang Gallery is proud to introduce Korean artist Mignon Jeon.
Expressing the importance of environmental conservation through her paintings, Mignon works on traditional Korean paper (Hanji) with eastern ink wash painting techniques.
Using the endangered polar bear as her subject, she conveys her message through this solitary subject. The title 'The Last Polar Bear' references The Last Supper from the Bible, and she expresses how much consolation humans receive from animals in the image of a polar bear.
Mignon's work is reminiscent of a fairy tale - pure on the surface but symbolising important environmental issues.
