This October, The Drang Gallery Burford is proud to present a dual exhibition featuring contemporary artists Wolfgang Bloch and Mignon Jeon.
Wolfgang Bloch, celebrated for his evocative seascapes, brings works that transform the raw energy of the ocean into deeply atmospheric and soulful paintings. His careful brushwork and layered surfaces evoke the romanticism of Turner and the emotive depth of Rothko, capturing both the vastness and quiet intimacy of the sea. Each painting draws viewers into moments of reflection and wonder.
Exhibited alongside Bloch is the poetic artistry of Mignon Jeon, who works on traditional Korean paper (hanji) with delicate ink wash techniques. Her compositions are ethereal yet grounded, exploring light, memory, and the quiet beauty of everyday moments. Recurring motifs - including the endangered polar bear - hint at environmental concerns, adding a subtle, thoughtful layer to her seemingly fairy-tale-like imagery. Mignon will be present at The Drang Gallery in Burford on 11th October, offering visitors a rare opportunity to meet the artist in person.
This exhibition promises a rare dialogue between two distinct voices in contemporary art, united by their ability to evoke emotion, capture fleeting beauty, and linger in the imagination.
Join us from 2pm at The Drang Gallery for an afternoon of exceptional art, conversation, and inspiration.
Exhibition runs: 11th - 26th October 2025
