Roy Wright is an award-winning artist working mainly in charcoal. He specialises in producing original highly detailed yet vital drawings of natural forms such as isolated ancient trees to complete modern-day cityscapes.
“There is something extraordinary about the relationship between us and trees, the need to be close to and connect with nature, walking through forests renewing our spirits with their beauty and the constantly changing seasons.” Roy Wright
Wright studied Illustration at Hull College of Art, and has won many awards, including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition award for a drawing of an architectural subject in 2001. In 2003, he was elected a member of the Pastel Society, and in 2017 his charcoal drawing ‘Late Summer’ was selected for the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children’s art collection.
