Alexander Sutton

Alexander Sutton is a professional British photographer, cameraman and filmmaker who grew up close to the Northumbrian coast. He took up photographyat an early age, drawn to the region’s wild and open landscape.

 

At the age of 22, shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall, he travelled to Romania to over the aftermath of the revolution that deposed the dictator Nicolae Ceausescu, beginning a career as a photojournalist. He went on to specialise in covering conflict during the 1990’s and 2000’s for publications and broadcasters including The Sunday Times, The Independent, Time Magazine, CNN, Aljazeera and Sky News.

 

With a career spanning over 30 years working in hostile environments, sports, and documentaries Alexander has returned to his roots in landscape and ocean photography.
