Max Steven Grossman was born in Barranquilla, Colombia in 1971. He originally studied engineering and graduated from the University of Philadelphia in 1994 and soon after this, he discovered his passion for photography. In 2000, he graduated from New York University and the International Center of Photography with a Master of Arts specialising in photography. Studying such diverse subjects as engineering and the arts have moulded Grossman's creative photography into a study of both reality and imagination.
In his photographic series of "Bookscapes", the assembled libraries only exist in his photographs. From photos of different bookshelves, he organises a creative digital composition of a thematic "Bookscape". Each viewer experiences a different relationship with the work, depending on the theme of that particular assembled library. Some examples of "Bookscape" themes are Hollywood, Rock and Roll, Fashion, Architecture, Art, etc.
Grossman's photographs have been exhibited globally. He has shown his work extensively in Fairs and Foundations such as Geneva, Hamburg, Paris, Hong Kong and New York to name just a few.
