Description

CANADA. A ring seal peers through the glass-like layer of its hole before appearing for a breath. This allows him to spot predators like the polar bear, and is a key defence mechanism for survival. Without ice, ring seals will find themselves exposed, as well as losing a key part of their environment where they build igloos used to give birth to their young.
